Rendezvous Bar  Bournemouth

Ian McPherson, Bar & Night Club owner of Rendezvous Bar and

SubBase Night Club plus the Club promoter

of one of the biggish gay night in the south coast Bolts

Bolts Gay Nights

Bolts in its time had  big name such as Boy George, Boney M, Take That, Sonia, Army Of Lovers, Kym Mazelle….

The Bank Holiday Parties had become a legend on the scene, and people still travelled to them from far and wide.
Ian McPherson and Richard Hunt, who were having success with revamped Cabaret Club, approached the Academy to relaunch Bolts on Bank Holidays only. This was accepted, and the parties started . “House Music” was definitely the driving force musically now, with a slightly harder edge starting to develop as “Techno” introduced new sounds. Any big, camp anthem was still very popular though (Kylie, Madonna, Pet Shop Boys, Snap, Dina Carroll…!)

Another change of ownership at the venue however meant that Bolts once  was forced close.
